The status report

That's how I play it

That's how it's really played

The Quick Word

In my constant battle against procrastination, I’ve been able to bring myself to finish this post which as a matter of fact, was scheduled for publishing 2 days ago but alas my laziness got the better of me. I’m also to blame my continuous meddling with Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Final Fantasy IV DS. For those of you who haven’t heard of/played these titles and own a DS handheld (or emulator) you might wanna take a quick look at them.

In regards to anime, While I’ve been watching some current season series such as World Destruction, Code Geass R2 and so on, I’ve also made efforts to watch some old series that for some unfortunate reason I didn’t watch when they were airing, I though I’d write about them. These are Mushishi and Inukami!

Mushishi was, by most critics opinion (here I quote the AnimeReactor Community 2006 Awards) the best fantasy and best Story anime of it’s season and most people who’ve catched a glimpse of it would agree. The story develops in an universe where beings that are neither passive or hostile known as the mushi live, and the main character Ginko, after living through a sequence of unfortunate events, dedicates his life to examine them and study their behaviour, such occupation is known as Mushishi.

The anime consists of 26 episodes in which Ginko would encounter a person whose life has been negatively or positively affected by a mushi, He’d then get involved in their situation one way or the other and managed his way around solving whatever needed to be solved. Among the mushishi franchise you can also find the manga and a live action movie, needless to say Mushishi now forms part of my Top Ten favorite anime.

Another series I’ve indulged myself in is Inukami! because for every deep and though provocative anime it’s always good to contrast with a light comedy series to get your moods back. In Inukami! you can expect a lot of genitalia, specially Male’s, censored by a little cute elephant face of course. That is not to say it’s lacking female fanservice. The inukami are spirits which have taken the form dogs (in this case, cute and hot girls that can alternatively transform into dogs) to aid the humans.

The main character is Kawahira keita, a boy from the kawahira family, which has for generations kept the peace with the help of the Inukami, each member of the family has to make a contract with his designated Inukami in order to do their job . For Keita this is inukami is Youko, a poweful green haired inukami that has completely fallen for him and needless to say , he possesses no interest at all in her. As they go through several ordeals their relationship grows stronger (and funnier), this is a series meant for those who want a refresher before going back into the darker genres.

No comments on mushishi since I didn’t watch it.

But I thought Inukami was really rather lacking in ideas, and sucked. I prefer blatant fanservice like Kanokon. =D

ANOTHER thing. Poking fun at balls ain’t amusing for me D=

Mushishi = good, for the art and slice of life/paranormal

Inukami = good, for the furries, and cock lazers

btw, Final Fantasy IV DS, use this before you get fucked up http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=939425&topic=44453857
