Then there was rest.

Yeah I was completely gutted. I announced a project, I was pumped! Kyouki is something i’m quite motivated to do. It’s something I want to complete. However, circumstances dictate that I now have to put it back into the standby status.

Those of you who have spoken to me will know the reasons for this and in short it comes down to not having time. Never fear, I still will potter away at the code in preparation for launch and heck.. who knows someone might be able to run it for me.

Cute.. I just wish I could draw like that. *sigh*

Watching Anime

So I have been watching copious amounts of Anime of late. I am managing to somehow digest 5 shows at once. This is something I haven’t done and kept up with in quite some time. In fact it’s somewhat of a landmark thing for me. It’s odd too when my family looks at it. They might complain about me always having my laptop out when they watch tv.. as if to say “hey you aren’t joining in”. But it’s the same as me reading a book (which appears to be acceptable) while they enjoy their shows. I digress, it is fun to relax on the couch watching the latest subbed episode of a show. Very relaxing.

So what have I been watching? Let’s see…

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki: Episode 1 ~ Episode 15 [HD]

This show is my comedy/lifesucksattimes show of the moment. It’s bright, cheerful.. for the most part. It shows the positives of life no matter who you are. It’s just damn fun. It’s also the first anime series that i’ve grabbed in HD. I must say being able to play an episode that is natively the size of my screen resolution (1280×768?) is a bonus. It looks great, sounds great and I recommend the HD over the SD. That being said.. the SD can be more portable if you want to watch on your iPod or portable device.

Comedy/Tragedy? Only in Asia.

The Daughter of Twenty Faces: Episode 1 ~ Episode 14/? [SD]

This is the first of two shows recommended to me by Extrange. I was really surprised by this show. It’s definitely a favourite of mine now. The early story arc change got me really hooked. The characters are pretty cool and the story seems to be progressing ok. I was concerned it was going to go down the SUPER PARANORMAL route. But it seems to have struck a balance between science and the unknown. I don’t know if anyone else noticed.. or whether I am just going crazy.. but it seemed to take ages for the OP to match what is actually happening in the show. This show I am viewing in SD.. I think this is merely due to the fact that I saw the first 5 episodes in SD and I hate to break a collection.

Ah yes, teenagers these days.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Episode 1 ~ Episode 7/? [SD]

I just finished reading a post from Mike over at anime|otaku and I agree that this show is a goodun. It doesn’t pretend to be something it is not and thus it’s worth a watch. Yuuto is finally a male character that I actually like. He’s a more realistic guy. Not a whining OBLIVIOUS idiot like so many others. I’ll let it be known right now.. i’m a Shiina fan. SO many reasons why. I don’t like her simply because no one else is any good.. I actually like Haruka’s character she’s adorable. I just love Shiina’s character. I’m also watching this show in SD, it’s acceptable and for most anime SD is fine imo.

Xam’d: Lost Memories: Episode 1 ~ Episode 5/? [SD]

This show… this show. It is quite plainly awesome. It’s made me love BONES. I was a huge fan of Eureka 7 and BONES has made me feel the love once more. If you want to know more about it check out Extrange’s posts. I just realised that BONES did The Daughter of Twenty Faces too… <3. I have only seen this show in SD so far. I’d definitely switch to HD if I could get them all subbed.

BONES, how I love you so.

Toshokan Sensou: Episode 1 ~ Episode 4/12 [HD]

I’m really enjoying this show for it’s unique premise and the glorious HD that I get to watch this in. I can’t help but think of Tom Cruise when I see one of the characters… he’s so short. I do have a passion for books and the idea that the freedom of literature is compromised and defended by military units is something I find fascinating. The HD on this show really shines through, i’ve had to alter the way my subs are displayed so that they are plain and not so gaudy but HD is definitely the way to go.

Books + Guns + Girl = WIN?

So anyway that’s what i’m up to at the moment. I need to clean out the categories and tags on mellowSPACE a bit. It’s all a little messy. I also have to make a favicon for mellowSPACE so Maestro doesn’t lose me on his taskbar.
