Bleach 191

After the fight Grimmjow, Injured Ichigo finds himself facing Nnoitra meanwhile Ishida and Renji face Szayel for the second time.

Inside Szayel’s rigged room we are treated to a flashback explaining the events before the filler episodes, how he survived their attack and how he can manipulate the corridors to avoid having them escape. Soon after he releases his zanpakuto Fornicarás (from the verb Fornicar in spanish, it means to fornicate) in his released state he gains a pair of wings, and squid like tentacles that come down from his waist and he gains the ability to shoot a black goo-like ink which can create a clone of whatever it touches. Ishida & co. make an effort to avoid it, failing to do so various replicas of them are created which posses the same abilities that they do, as they fight off their doubles and avoid more of the goo Szayel quietly sits in his throne like chair made from two member of his fraction.

Outside of Las noches, Ichigo tries to fend off Nnoitra however the gap in strength is too wide and ichigo is wounded from the last battle. Inoue, while being held by Nnoitra’s fraction notices Nel has been gone for some time, she is in fact hiding behind one of the boulders. Nnoitra’s fraction notices this fires his zero at the boulder, once Nnoitra sees her he recognizes her and reveals she is Neliel Tu Oderschvank, the former third Espada and Nnoitra’s superior.

Overall, more than half of this episode was a recap but it’s sticking close to the manga plot. The battle animations have gotten slightly better after the filler episodes. Seeing Szayel’s release sequence in which he shoves his sword down his throat in motion was more disturbing than in the manga and the high Ecstasy expression in his face doesn’t help much at all.

Next week’s episode is The Secret of Nel, the preview gave away part of the surprise but it will stiff be partly interesting.
